Jennifer Lorene Ritenour was born, raised, and presently resides in San Pedro, California. She also lived in Las Vegas, Nevada at one point in time. Her writing is informed by place. Her style has been described as dirty fabulism.
Her work has appeared in Witness, Santa Monica Review, and Waxwing, among other places. She is a scholarship recipient and graduate of the Napa Valley and Squaw Valley writers’ workshops.
She holds a BA in English Literature & Creative Writing from USC, an MFA in Fiction Writing from UCR, and is currently a candidate for an MA in Teaching Writing at JHU and a student of writingtheother.com
She is currently a teaching assistant at a community college and is working on a YA speculative-fiction novel.
